The Republic of Croatia has received an advance in the amount of US$ 1.75 million equivalent from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to finance required expenditures for the preparation of a Trade and Transport Integration Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for consulting services to be procured under corresponding consulting contract.
The Project Implementation Unit at the Port of Ploce Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.
Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, experience in geo-mechanical investigation, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
Geo-mechanical investigation for Bulk Cargo Terminal
The objective of this contract is the realization of geotechnical investigation works on the future bulk cargo terminal site according to already prepared geotechnical investigation works program.
Geotechnical investigation works will be performed within the port area, throughout location covering approximately 25 ha.
With regard to references, consulting company must have at least two contracts and respective works performed according to these contracts that are with their range and structure of works similar to the one in question.
Key positions, such as: project manager, building site manager and main designer must be fulfilled with qualified staff with at least ten years of professional experience and B.Sc.
Consultant must possess necessary equipment for "in situ" works and laboratory testing and all in accordance with requirements by standards: ENV 1997-2:1999 and ENV 1997-3:1999, chapter 3, 5, 8 and 12. or equivalent.
The assignment shall commence as soon as practical, on or about 1 January 2006 and conclude 1 April 2006.
The selection shall be on the basis of QCBS procurement method.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank抯 Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 which can be found at the following web site: www.worldbank.org/procure.
